Dr Nicki Macklin
Founder, KindFrame | Associate Editor, BMJ Leader
Nicki is a researcher and consultant whose work explores how kindness strengthens professionalism, leadership, and organisational performance. A patient and family advocate, and a former healthcare professional and manager, she completed her PhD at the University of Auckland examining organisational kindness as a form of social capital in complex systems. Through her consulting practice, KindFrame, Nicki helps organisations and boards turn kindness into a practical tool for better decision-making, constructive dialogue, and accountable leadership.
Her research and writing have appeared in BMJ Leader and Harvard Business Review. Nicki is a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, where she lectures on kindness and relational leadership, and serves as Associate Editor for BMJ Leader’s 'Kindness and Human Connection' research stream. She collaborates internationally with leaders in law, healthcare, and business to create cultures that balance performance with humanity
